Shannon McFarland, CCIE #5245, is a Solutions Architect for Data Center technologies and Enterprise IPv6 design on Cisco’s Enterprise Solutions Engineering (ESE) team. He is balances his time between Enterprise IPv6 design and Data Center design validation and optimization with an application/OS focus on all things Microsoft. Shannon has worked in ESE for the past 7+ years and has authored many technical papers related to IPv6, data center design, application deployment and IP multicast design as well as  a contributor to Cisco Press books and is a frequent speaker at Cisco Networkers and other industry conferences. Prior to his time in ESE he was a Cisco field SE supporting enterprise customers and partners. Shannon has been in the networking and application industry for over 16 years.
